Chapter 16 Part 1

The Haitian Revolution changes both sides of the Atlantic Revolution between 1775 and 1825. Haitians got inspiration from North American and French revolution. But the French revolutions overthrew the French rule which shaped the Latin American independence. Europe, Africa, North American, and South American was the wake of Columbus's voyages and then the European conquest followed.

The North American Revolution started in 1775 and it was between 1775 and 1787. We all learned about the revolution in our school days. But with the revolution became the struggle. The struggle was launched with the Declaration of Independence in 1776. After an surprising military victory, 13th colonies that were once separated became one nation. The American Revolution made a big political change. In the 17th and 18th centuries the British colonies in North America enjoyed local autonomy.

French Revolution was between 1789-1815 which took place in France.The French Revolution was very different from the North American Revolution. The American Revolution expressed tensions of a colonial relationship with a distant imperial power, but the French insurrection was driven by sharp conflicts within French Society. Monarchy efforts resisted new taxes. Members of the titled nobility where privileged and wealthy. The middle class men were the lawyers and doctors, but the lower level officials became more popular. And they were growing in numbers. As an Enlightenment idea effected the French Society. More and more people mostly the Third Estate but also priests and nobles found a language to communicate the grievances that were happening.

Science and Religion : The coming together? Protestant Reformation  -New Christianity - Catholic churches were accepted Requirement to be Catholic; Only the priest were able to read the bible. So therefore there was only the interpretation of the priest. He could be telling the people anything they wanted. Truthfully or false. But once others began to learn how to read they felt their was a slightly different interpretation. That's when Christianity broke off into their own group. -Catholic vs Christian became a thing although they are the same thing Scientific Revolution -Scientific method was developed to help people understand reality -The question then arose "How do I know what can I trust?" Revolution, Socialism, and Global Conflict The Rise and Fall of World Communism 1917-present  Global Communism Modern communism founds its roots in the 19th century. The Europeans thought that there goal would be achieved peacefully and the democratic process. Russia called the Soviet Union, which was the first country to experience revolution. By the 1970's 1/3 of the population lived in government communities. The Soviet Union was the largest country in size. China was the largest country in population. But the Communist regimes came to power in Eastern Europe in between World War II and the extension of the Soviet military.
